Is this Star Wars? Do the idiots in Congress really think the American people are so dumb they’re going to jump all over a vote of no confidence. That didn’t even pass by the way. Stupid liberals. This has to be the most blatantly ignorant political ploy I have ever heard of. I’m sure none of them knew it’s not even effective in our government. If they were in the house of commons over in the UK it could stir up some trouble. But here in the US a vote of no confidence is meaningless. Much like non-binding resolutions. This sh*t is making me sick. I swear one of these morons saw this in Star Wars and thought it was cool. Wasn’t it episode 1 they issued a vote of no confidence?
Anyway, this is all regarding the Congress’ ploy to get a vote of no confidence passed among the liberals. It didn’t work, they couldn’t even get the 60 it takes to … well I don’t know since it’s meaningless. Why is this still going on? The lawyers were fired and the President can fire whoever the hell he damn pleases who works for him. I could only hope is so calous as to fire them for not agreeing with him. That’s kick ass. Very FAM like.
Its been done once before with apparent success so Rudy’s gonna give it a go in his campaign. The leading republican candidate says some good things, good stuff that will settle well with the base of the republican party. Except maybe not trying to outlaw abortion. His excuse being that it can’t be changed. At least he promises to lessen abortions. Of course, like I just wrote my mom in an email, promises in DC mean something entirely different from promises made elsewhere. Promises in DC mean that “I tried, or at least tried enough to say I tried, and if I fail I can blame it on partisan politics.” I’m not saying Giuliani would do this, but I view him with skepticism, just like any other politician.
I’m getting side tracked though. I like Rudy’s 12 commitments, they make me feel warm and fuzzy inside. And if I had to vote now I’d check the box next to his name. But more than this recent blog it’s his elect-ability that moves my voting hand. The president has to walk on one side of the dividing line on the political road. Rudy walks on the right side, but in a lot of ways close to it. He’ll appeal to those voters looking for less of a conservative but someone that still wants to shoot bad guys. … of course we need a lot of those voters. I’m talking about his social politics. And to be honest, most voters and conservatives for that matter, are willing to give up some social views if they can get someone in there that will continue hunting terrorists. Which is his first commitment.
