Rudy Giuliani’s contract with America
Its been done once before with apparent success so Rudy's gonna give it a go in his campaign. The leading republican candidate says some good things, good stuff that will settle well with the base of the republican party. Except maybe not trying to outlaw abortion. His excuse being that it can't be changed. At least he promises to lessen abortions. Of course, like I just wrote my mom in an email, promises in DC mean something entirely different from promises made elsewhere. Promises in DC mean that "I tried, or at least tried enough to say I tried, and if I fail I can blame it on partisan politics." I'm not saying Giuliani would do this, but I view him with skepticism, just like any other politician.
I'm getting side tracked though. I like Rudy's 12 commitments, they make me feel warm and fuzzy inside. And if I had to vote now I'd check the box next to his name. But more than this recent blog it's his elect-ability that moves my voting hand. The president has to walk on one side of the dividing line on the political road. Rudy walks on the right side, but in a lot of ways close to it. He'll appeal to those voters looking for less of a conservative but someone that still wants to shoot bad guys. ... of course we need a lot of those voters. I'm talking about his social politics. And to be honest, most voters and conservatives for that matter, are willing to give up some social views if they can get someone in there that will continue hunting terrorists. Which is his first commitment.

I really like Romney though too ... choices choices. Well, its really only tough because they're all so similar.
