Wahoo’s Fish Tacos – Gluten Free

I’m sitting above Wahoo’s Fish Tacos right now. The office I work in is actually located one floor above their restaurant. I smell delicious grilled meat every morning when they fire up the kitchen. Despite this I rarely eat there. I can’t tell you why. GearHost actually has a house account with them so getting fishy tacos is as simple as walking down there and putting it on the house account, for free. (Margaritas as well, but they aren’t as good.) But I never did because I usually eat larabars and salads because I’ve grown into a wimpy girl thanks to my glutenous allergy and weight watching.

The #8 chargrilled fish bowl has 900 calories. That’s a pretty decent amount if you’re counting. But of those 900 calories you only get 10 grams of fat, 65 grams of protein, and 143 grams of carbs. Damn! I should be eating this as my after ride meal or after workout. However, this isn’t a perfect world. It also packs 2025 mg of sodium and the recommended daily intake is 2300. Hmm, that might account for the bloated feeling after, albeit a good full of fishy rice and beans bloated feeling. Those values might be different with brown rice as well. They also seem awfully high, maybe I’m just reading their nutrition info wrong.

Now that we’re past the nitty gritty we can get into taste. Yes, it’s delicious, I’m not the only one that thinks so. Wahoo’s is regularly packed at lunch and there are always a few people munching on something throughout the day.

Short and sweet, there you have it. BTW, the sauce is gluten free as well, the little tub of green sauce you get with the bowl. Here’s a list of gluten-free stuff they sent me in an email as well. http://www.mikesaysmeh.com/Wahoo-FoodAllergens102209.xls

I go to the Denver location off Blake street, near Blake and 15th in lodo.
